What is the 1/2-hour rule?

Let's say you set up a drive for 3 p.m.? This means our instructor can pick you up at 2:30 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. In other words, it's a 1/2-hour window before your time, or even after your set time. Trust us, we try to be right on time, but sometimes we have to deal with issues on the road -- traffic jams, construction, trains, or even accidents. It's the nature of the beast. However, we will charge a $30 no-show fee if you are not home when it's time for your drive. We understand things happen in life and you might need to cancel. We just ask for consideration and a 24-hour notice if you are cancelling your drive with us.

Is there a penalty for cancelling drives at the last minute?

Yes. We ask for a 24-hour notice if you are cancelling a drive. Our drivers have set schedules for the hour-drives so it throws everything off when we have a no-show or a late cancellation. We understand if it's a true emergency, but we charge a $30 no-show fee for any drives cancelled without a 24-hour notice. Students who are not home when we arrive for pickup also fall under this category. We will call your cell, your house, and even come to the your door, but if you are not there for pickup, you cannot set up another drive with us until the $30 no-show fee is paid.

What if I want to take my driving test at the BMV?

If you have completed your 30 classroom hours, and 6 of behind-the-wheel driving hours, you can elect to take your test at the BMV rather than with us. Simply stop by our office to get your letter of completion which is required for testing at the BMV.

I just signed my teenager up for driver’s education, can I pick up the paperwork to take the permit test?

Yes, but be aware that adhering to state guidelines and regulations takes some time and new sign-ups require a minimum of 24 hours to process. We'll make every effort to process each student's paperwork as quickly as possible.
